Uganda Adventure by Foot

This itinerary is really something special, especially if you are interested in hiking and climbing. You first start by acclimatizing to the climate of Uganda with a visit to Kampala and rafting trip on The Nile. On day 5 the Sipi Falls and Mount Elgon come into site, here the real adventure begins. Hike the special Kapkwata Trail in 4 days. This beautiful hike on Mount Elgon is really great with some amazing views. After getting back you will be heading to Kibale Forest to go Chimp tracking, and last but certainly not least you go Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest before returning to Kampala.

1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport, Uganda

2: Today there are no activities planned, you have time to acclimatize and get prepared for an amazing trip.

3: After breakfast deparuture for Jinja

4: A very exciting day, since today you will go on a full-day Rafting tour on the Nile, with Class V Rapids!

5: Transfer to Sipi Falls area for the start of the Mount Elgon hike.

6: Early morning breakfast, then start the fully arranged hike following the Kapkwata Trail. A scenic hike through the bamboo, heath and moor land gets you to the Piswa camp at 2850 meters; Mount Elgon; Piswa Camp; FB

7: Hike up to the rim of the caldera through beautiful columns of lobelia Elgonensis.
Visit the hot springs and Suam Gorge before ascending to the hunters cave Camo 3850m.; Mount Elgon; Hunters Cave Camp; FB

8: Morning breakfast, then ascend to the top of the caldera to the Wagagai peak at 4321m. Descend thereafter through the Jackson Summit and the Jackson pool to overnight at Mude Camp 3500m.; Mount Elgon; Mude Camp; FB

9: Early morning, descend though the Sasa trail to Budadiri then travel to Mbale town and then to Kampala.

13: The adventure and search start in the morning.
First a short briefing with information which Gorilla group you are going to look for.
The time on how long you need to walk is never known in advance, maybe 3 to 4 hours maybe only 30 minutes.
The reward is most of the time the very best, you get to spend an hour with the Impressive Loveable Mountain Gorillas.
